The two graveyards.
The chapel had two burial grounds: an Upper graveyard, immediately around the chapel, and a Lower graveyard on the slope below it. The two were managed as one churchyard but extended at different times as the congregation grew.
The Upper graveyard is still maintained. In August 2021 every visible headstone was photographed and the inscriptions transcribed; those records are available on Find a Grave.
The Lower graveyard has been closed to access for many years, on the advice of the Church Council, as the ground became overgrown and unsafe. The hand-drawn plan and plot index below are the surviving record of who was buried there.
Lower graveyard plot index.
420 numbered plots, of which 276 carry a name in the chapel's plan. Search by surname, forename, or plot number. Unrecorded plots are kept in sequence for reference.
